THE INCUBATOR

A performance that exposes labor systems in the United States, where immigrant bodies are treated as both workers and products. Drawing on themes of alienation, surveillance, and systemic violence, the piece enacts a ritualized workday in which performers embody “breeders”, immigrant laborers controlled by a figure of authority. The U.S. national anthem opens the day, collapsing patriotism into obedience. A silent figure roams the space, her speech muted, her property seized, as she attempts to awaken the numb. Both workers and spectators become witnesses and accomplices in this machinery of exploitation, raising urgent questions about complicity, control, and the possibility of resistance.
